Kieran has the magic touch with Syrah

Kieran has the magic touch with Syrah. Both his 2013s are terrific – Antonio Galloni, August 2017

2013 R FIVE Syrah

The 2013 Syrah R Five is terrific. Rich, deep and energetic, yet also medium in body, the 2013 is all about grace. A burst of dark red and purplish fruit makes a strong opening statement. Deep, creamy and totally satisfying, the 2013 is a total knockout. Readers who want to experience more flavor complexity will want to cellar the 2013 for at least a few years. Today, it is the fruit that takes center stage. Score: 93+

2013 The Jawn Syrah

A big, intense wine, the 2013 Syrah The Jawn offers serious depth and overall complexity. Dark, brawny and still in need of time to fully come together, the 2013 hits the palate with a rush of savory and earthy notes that complement the dense, dark-fleshed fruit nicely. What a gorgeous wine this is. Score: 94

2014 Stagecoach Viognier

The 2014 Viognier Stagecoach Vineyard is pleasant and varietally true, but I am not sure this Napa Valley vineyard is the most ideal spot in the world to plant Viognier. I would prefer to drink the 2014 sooner rather than later, while the apricot pit, peach and floral notes retain their freshness. Score: 88
